The Sun Hydraulics NCEBLAN/LH (NCEBLAN/LH) is a needle valve with a reverse flow check, designed for precise flow regulation in hydraulic systems. This component features an adjustable orifice that allows users to modulate flow from fully closed to the maximum orifice diameter, providing flexibility in various applications. An integral high-capacity check valve ensures unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1, though it\u2019s important to note that this valve is not pressure compensated. The design of these cartridges allows for interchangeability across all 2-port flow control models of the same frame size, although extension dimensions may differ. A key feature of the NCEBLAN/LH model is its balanced adjustment mechanism, which facilitates easy adjustments even under high pressures. The sharp-edged orifice design reduces variations in flow due to changes in fluid viscosity, enhancing performance consistency. Cartridges equipped with EPDM seals are suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids but should not be exposed to petroleum-based substances as this can cause seal damage. The floating style construction minimizes internal binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations. This Series 2 cartridge has a capacity of 12 gpm (45 L/min) and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It features a leakage rate of up to 10 drops/min at 110 SUS (24 cSt), with an adjustment range from fully closed to open spanning five full counterclockwise turns. Installation requires specific torque settings: the valve hex size is 1 1/8 inches (28.6 mm) with an installation torque between 45-50 lbf-ft (61-68 Nm), while the locknut requires a torque of 80-90 lbf-in (9-10 Nm). The model weighs .40 lb (.20 kg) and utilizes Viton seal kits for optimal performance.
Needle valves with reverse-flow check are fully adjustable orifices used to regulate flow. They are infinitely adjustable from fully closed up to the maximum orifice diameter. An integral high-capacity check valve provides unrestricted flow from port 2 to port 1. They are not pressure compensated.
- All 2-port flow control cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size). However, cartridge extension dimensions from the mounting surface may vary.
- Because needle valves are non-compensating devices, the fixed orifice size will regulate flow through the valve in proportion to the square root of the pressure differential across ports 1 and 2.
